This model enables coronary anastomosis on a still or pumping heart; anatomical spatial and tactile elements closely mimic the human form. A preformed incision ensures that the realistic skin is reusable; ribs accommodate rib-lifting devices; replaceable pads attach to the heart and the thoracic wall, and carry fluid-filled vessels for anastomosis. Training for open access and minimal access techniques of internal mammary artery dissection and anastomosis to the left anterior descending coronary artery can be carried out on a still or a beating heart.
