The Hysteroscopic Trainer presents the anatomy of the uterus in its applied form in a range of different conditions.

The Uteri include:

Normal uterus: showing normal anatomy for the practice of hysteroscopic procedures (60322)
Transclucent Uterus: ranslucent version (60311) giving a view of the internal anatomy, and for demonstrating IUD placement.
Polyps: uteri presenting pathological conditions (60312).
Fibroids: uteri presenting pathological conditions (60313).

The trainer is designed to meet the training needs of specialists and others working in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. It is suitable both for doctors demonstrating the anatomy or pathology, and for equipment manufacturers interested in promoting their 'scopes.

The model provides an essential means for repetitive practice with the hysteroscope and the camera. Vital training in the handling of the equipment can be taught within the context of the model.

Using the Trainer:
The soft model of the uterus is secured to the Universal Base (60325) using the uteri clamp (60334). A drain is provided to siphon off any liquid used during these procedures.

The uterus presents tilting upwards to facilitate access by a 'scope. A normal uterus is available for comparison with fibroid and polyp uteri. The translucent uterus provides an excellent presentation of internal anatomy and for I.U.D. placement. The individual pieces are also available as a complete set (60326).

The Universal Base 60325 can be used with the Hysteroscopic Resectable Uteri and Diathermy Prostates.

Hysteroscopic training system for endometrial ablation techniques

L&T has developed a two-stage training system for endometrial ablation and fibroid removal made from non-biological materials which have been specially formulated for the use of diathermy and laser. Once the trainee has gained confidence with the technique and instruments using the tank and slabs they are ready to go onto the next stage.

A model simulates the internal applied anatomy of the uterus; it is secured to the same base which is used for the Hysteroscopic Diagnostic Model and the Diathermy Prostate Trainers. For use, the model must be centred to a ground plate and provision is made for this in the design of the jig. A drain is provided for the evacuation of liquid.

Basic Trainer

The Basic Trainer - designed as an introduction to techniques in manipulation and co-ordination. Working from a screen the trainee can practice taking strips from a flat slab (60213) or one with contours (60378) which are made from a resectable material submerged in a covered tank and earthed.



Resectable Uteri

The trainee can work on a uterus model which is earthed and secured to its own base. Training can be given in endometrial ablation, with diathermy or laser for the removal of a fibroid or uterus wall. Uteri are supplied are medium or advanced difficulty pathologies with normal anatomy or with a fibroid.
