Clinical Female Pelvic Trainer (60280)

Female pelvic examination is a procedure which needs to be carried out by many practitioners and nurses; training is essential away from the patient.

Using the Clinical Female Pelvic Trainer

Accurate anatomical and tactile representation provides for extensive training at undergraduate level for both doctors and nurses, and has many uses in family health and community care. The simplicity of the model enables the trainee to focus on essential anatomy and procedure. Different assemblies can be introduced according to the need of that training requirement.

The Modular Design
The model is designed in a modular way. Different pathological assemblies are inter-changeable. and can be introduced according to the training requirements. The pelvic support is identical to that used in the Female Body Form and the Surgical Female Pelvic Trainer and is interchangeable. The soft tissue simulation is replaceable. Clamps are provided to secure the model whilst in use. A full User Guide is supplied with each model.

The abdominal skin unclips and lifts off.

Bimanual and Rectal Examination:
Normal anatomy is represented

Standard vaginal examination: This model enables trainees to become familiar with the detailed procedure of clinical examination:

using a speculum
the taking of swabs
the use of a spatula for learning the procedure of the collection of smears from the cervix

Normal lubricants can be used on the model; each foam component can be rinsed and dried after use.

Assemblies for use in the Clinical Female Pelvic Trainer:

Peritoneal Lavage Pelvic Trainer (60290)

This model caters for the emergency procedure of peritoneal lavage. The skin clips on to the Female Pelvic Trainer (60280) or the Body Form (50130). The soft tissue multi-layered abdominal wall and perineum and bowel are in place. A plastic tray fits into the pelvic cavity into which liquid can be poured prior to securing the abdominal wall. Lavage procedure forms part of A & E training where time is of the essence and therefore practice is crucial.

Episiotomy Trainer (60225)

This trainer is essential for the practice of episiotomy and third degree tear of the perineum. The soft tissue pad which contains relevant layers for suturing is mounted in a unique jig. An episiotomy or a tear can be sited to the left or right of the vaginal opening. The full procedure of repair can be carried out including deep musculature suturing, subcutaneous and superficial suturing. This is an important model for the training of midwives and junior doctors.
